Hyundai Equus Finally Arriving in U.S.

There are lot of ways that a success story can be told, but one of my personal favorite narratives of this type are when there’s a little nerdy kid who gets ridiculed and picked on, only to grow up rich and talented and good-looking and therefore put in a situation to show up all the bullies who gave him so much hell during childhood.

That’s sort of been the story for Hyundai, who got severely ridiculed when the Excel debuted in the late 1980s, yet now find themselves seriously contending with the other top models in the industry. I’m not just talking about the Elantra and Sonata giving Toyota and Honda a run for their money; I’m talking about the new-to-the-U.S. Hyundai Equus giving Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz all they can handle.

In some ways, Delray Beach used Hyundai Genesis models served as a father to the new Equus, and in other ways it was the child of Asia’s Hyundai Centennial. However you may trace its ancestry, however, what we do know is that this car will give drivers the luxury they desire in this sort of vehicle without causing quite the sticker shock of a bigger name in the class. At only $50,000, the Equus comes in way under the large luxury sedans it’s competing with, like the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes S-Class, or the Lexus LS.

Only a few changes have shown their faces on this new Americanized version of Hyundai’s flagship vehicle; instead of a grille with bars there are now horizontal slats, and the hood ornament that seems to suggest luxury on other continents has been replaced by a shield of the same logo in the center of the grille. Other than that, it’s essentially the same car, which is really going to please a lot of drivers in Florida. Lease Hyundai Equuses by contacting North Palm Hyudai as soon as you can. Otherwise, just wait and hope that it all works out.

Hyundai has come a long way from those days of getting pushed around by the bigger brands. Few would’ve ever thought they’d be in serious competition with the most luxurious brands in the world, but that day seems finally to have arrived. It’s a success story for the ages.

What Makes the 2011 Sonata So Great?

About three years ago, my brother got a job in the auto industry, which didn’t surprise me considering his love for cars growing up, but the first car he bought after starting this job and getting the opinion of his new coworkers did surprise me. He bought a Hyundai. “You mean Honda,” I remember saying, and he let me know in no uncertain terms that he did not mean Honda. He meant Hyundai.

Up to that point I’d never really known to consider Hyundai among the leading automakers in the industry, and maybe up to that point they hadn’t done much to prove that they were among the leaders in the auto industry. But, my brother assured me, Hyundai was making a huge push to create vehicles that would legitimately compete in their classes. I didn’t shrug him off, but I can’t say that I honestly believed him either.

Him being the guy that always had the drop on car news, I should’ve known better.

Delray Beach Hyundai dealers have seen a 50% rise in sales of the all new Sonata over last year already, and we’re only halfway through the calendar year. In fact, if any model has achieved the goal of moving to the head of its class, it’d be the redesigned 2011 Sonata, which has both critics and consumers alike buzzing over the looks, feel, and drive of the vehicle.

The more notable changes in this newest iteration of the Sonata is a change in engine. A Delray Beach used Hyundai Sonata had the option of carrying around a V6 if the buyer so desired, but the new model is only offering a four-banger. How that helps the 2011 Sonata is that the new design was engineered specifically for the smaller engine, thus removing 100 pounds from the overall weight of the vehicle. That means better gas mileage, which is atop many consumers’ current lists of demands for a new vehicle these days.

But there’s so much more than that when it comes to this car. It looks and drives on par with all the other, perhaps more famous, cars in the mid-sized sedan class. Toyota Camry and Honda Accord have been the winners in the past, but as my brother predicted, Hyundai seems to come out on top for 2010. Who knew? Well, aside from my brother, that is.

The 2010 Genesis Sedan is tops in safety

Everyone enters their car-buying search with some particular need or want they look to their vehicle to satisfy. Probably the majority of car buyers look for value (e.g., affordable luxury large sedans such as Delray Beach used Hyundai Genesis models), while some look for attention to environmental concerns, style, prestige, speed, etc.

Perhaps the most successful car companies are the ones that identify the highly sought after and most important of these traits and make their cars indistinguishable from them. That said, it would seem Hyundai is closer and closer to becoming the manufacturer most identified with “safe” cars.

The 2010 Genesis Sedan was recently named a Top Safety Pick for large cars by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This in addition to the 2011 Sonata being named a Top Safety Pick for midsize models, and Hyundai’s sister company, Kia, placing both the Forte and the Soul in the small car Top Safety Pick category.

To be considered for the award, the Genesis scored a top mark of Good in the four most common types of crashes (front, side, rear, and rollover), although it was not tested on the new roof-strength rating, which is applicable only to models made after January 2010 (the 2011 Sonata, for example).

Also required to be considered for the IIHS award, a vehicle must have electronic stability control (ESC), which comes standard on every Genesis. Delray Beach Hyundai dealers are eager to point out, that rear-wheel drive and the robust Hyundai 10-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty also come standard. Yes, in Delray Beach, used Hyundai Genesis models are something of a rare sight, kind of like snow in the Sunshine State, you might say.

On top of the impressive safety features, other highlights of the 2010 Genesis Sedan include: heated leather seats (thought not a huge selling point for Delray Beach Hyundai dealers...but still), a state of the art sound system equipped with satellite radio and Bluetooth, and a 4.6-liter aluminum V-8 engine good for 375 hp and 333 lb/ft of torque. The 2010 Genesis with this engine can generally be expected to get 17/25 mpg. And finally, for those who have come upon the Genesis for safety, it’s worth noting the V-8 model includes five-star crash ratings in all areas. More and more, the experts seem to be branding Hyundai as the “safe” pick.

India is eating up the Hyundai i10

Hyundai recently set an objective to increase their market share to 20% from their current 18% share. It’s easy to wonder what Hyundai is depending on to fulfill what seems to be such an impractical goal given this economy, which has been compared to the Great Depression. The answer? The Hyundai i10.

With sales reaching upward to 150,000, the car has become the highest selling car in India, which comes as no surprise to Delray Beach Hyundai dealers. Paired with the i10’s low price tag, its environmentally conscious allure is another feature that has contributed to its success. The i10 is the most fuel efficient car in its class achieving an impressive 19.81 miles per liter of petrol. Such high gas mileage saves drivers money while simultaneously reducing the harmful carbon dioxide that is emitted into the environment.

Hyundai cars are synonymous with power, efficiency, and safety, and Delray Beach Hyundai dealers say that the i10 is no exception. Although the i10 may be a few years away from hitting American soil, if you’re a car buyer in Florida, lease Hyundai vehicles currently in our inventory that also measure up to the Hyundai name.

The car is endowed with a 1.1 liter petrol engine powered by intelligent Responsive Drive Engine (iRDE) technology. The iRDE technology enhances the i10’s power and performance and allows it to attain its excellent mileage. The i10 is equipped safety features that are typically only seen on pricier cars including dual and side airbags, disk brakes on all four wheels, and ABS brakes.

The style of i10 5-door hatchback has a subtle allure that incorporates just the right amount of elegance, adventure, and glamour to cultivate a cohesive, well rounded body and look. Its curvature gives the i10 a sporty look, while its sharp rear angles bring out the car’s attractive appeal. The i10’s electric sunroof, perfect for Florida residents, contributes to the car’s sophisticated style in addition to the 15” alloy wheels, electric door mirrors, and rear spoiler.

The i10’s interior has a simple, yet elegant design that reflects the exterior’s style. The car’s striking but modest dual tone interior features extra long seats with consolidated headrests that accommodate to the driver’s utmost comfort. The animated dash and center raised console give the i10 a fresh and exciting vibe while its more typical features, (power windows, electronic tripmeter, air conditioner with a heater, etc.), maintain a tasteful presence.

As the Indian car market becomes in higher demand of smaller vehicles, other car manufacturers are exchanging SUVs and Wagons in their lineup for compact sedans. Delray Beach Hyundai dealers gladly accept such an inclination and can only hope that Hyundai decides to share the success of the i10 with Florida residents.

An inside look at the new Hyundai Tucson GLS

Hyundai has released their newest addition their small CUV lineup: the 2010 Hyundai Tucson GLS. Delray Beach Hyundai owners and lovers will surely be impressed by the stylish design and performance of the new Tucson GLS, especially once they find out the starting price of Hyundai’s newest creation. At a starting price of $19,995, who wouldn’t be attracted to Hyundai’s newest CUV model, even before examining the interior and exterior? As soon as anyone spots the new Tucson at the Delray Beach Hyundai dealer, they will be pleased with what they see. I like the black version the best – considering the chrome trim on the front grille has been eliminated, leaving the front face entirely black (except for the Hyundai logo and headlights). The smooth and sleek design not good enough? Hyundai offers a $1,700 popular equipment package that adds styling upgrades such as 17-inch alloy wheels, body colored mirrors and door handles, and roof rails and tinted rear wheels – which blend quite nicely with the black 2010 Hyundai Tucson GLS. Owners of a Delray Beach Hyundai model may be jealous of new GLS drivers. The beauty doesn’t just stop at the exterior. The manufacturers at Hyundai have remained consistent throughout the entire design of the 2010 Tucson GLS. The cabin has quite a luxurious appearance due to the curves of the dashboard and the aluminum accents on the steering wheel and air vents. To be honest, if I were to own and drive the new GLS on the road, I would definitely feel like I was riding with some importance and style. Although some may disagree with some features of the interior, the Tucson GLS undoubtedly stands out when compared to top competing vehicles.

Those browsing the Delray Beach Hyundai dealers to test drive the new Tucson GLS may want to know what is under the hood. The Tucson GLS is equipped with Hyundai’s new 2.4L four-cylinder engine, producing 176 horsepower and 168 pound-feet of torque, available with six-speed automatic transmission. For a small CUV, the 2010 Tucson GLS has an impressive fuel economy of 23 city/31 highway mpg. Any interested consumers should make their way to their local Hyundai dealer to observe the 2010 Hyundai Tucson GLS and test drive the model to see if it is the right purchase for them.
